WORKSHOP: Mobile Functional Beauty
Friday September 26, 10am - 5pm
Crafting brilliant mobile experiences, goes beyond aesthetics and pixel perfect designs; it necessitates strong understanding of interactive elements, usability patterns, gestures and mobile hardware capabilities. All these, when harmonically blended, may lead to highly emotional and delightful experiences, which will target the hearts and minds of mobile users, and will ultimately keep them engaged in a mobile application.
This workshop will guide you in the process of designing an engaging mobile application. It will help you understand all aspects of elegant and functional mobile design, recognize mobile screen limitations as well as huge hardware opportunities, and take advantage of touch interactions. Moreover, it will provide practical information on core design components of a mobile app, creating an optimised information hierarchy, respecting mobile platforms usage patterns, prototyping and evaluating your designs.
At the end of this workshop, you will be armed with practical essentials to understand how to design intuitive, focused, and aesthetically enchanting mobile interfaces.

WORKSHOP: Animate the Web
Friday September 26, 10am - 5pm
The web is an ever-evolving world and web animations have become part of the process and sometimes even a prerequisite. Many websites have some kind of animation, and many more have been created having complex animations in mind. Nowadays animations in websites vary from simple color and position transitions, to very complex animations including user interaction and asynchronous events.
In this workshop we will take a closer look at all kinds of animations, with live code samples, starting from CSS3 animations, pure JavaScript animations and closing with animation plugins. We will talk about the strengths and weaknesses of each solution, we will bust some myths along the way, on what we can and cannot do with animations, and finally we will cover some dos and don'ts for you to keep in mind.
About Tribal Worldwide Athens
We have a digital heart, but we know no boundaries when it comes to communication. Βesides, there is no gap there. No separation. The essence is in the idea, and ideas come in any form and shape. Every day, we face a new challenge. And the secret to success is the ability to change, to perfect and to dare. Even, if it all leads you to a mistake. As long as you keep learning from that.
NOTE: It is advised that you bring your laptop to the workshop, but it’s not absolutely necessary.

Come and follow a step-by-step easy guide to your website using Azure Websites! This is your chance and it’s cost free.

About: Isavella Benekou, Audience Marketing Manager / Windows UX Specialist @ Microsoft Hellas

Having said that, the last 5 years she is based back in Greece and works for Microsoft Hellas, combining her two trades, doing audience development for all technical audiences while working on familiarizing front end developers and designers with Microsoft’s unpredictably super cool Windows UI.
